As the Covid-19 pandemic through a major curveball to all performing artists across the world, Philip Lipton, professional clarinetist and avid baker decided to hone his skills in the craft of sourdough baking to pass the time without gigs. Lipton gets as much joy sharing his sourdough delicacies as he does sharing his music. He is now featured in farmers markets in his home of Charleston, SC, has gained local recognition in the Post and Courier News Paper

“Making sourdough bread is just as much a time art as making music. In music we ride the wave of sound with time, in baking we ride the rise and fall of the bread. If we stretch the time out, or cut it short, bread never comes out right, just like music that must be played from start to finish without too much speeding up or slowing down.”
